Summit Wellness Center
The Partners of the Mount are provided counseling services by the Lay Counseling Ministry and will be given access to all of the services and care that they have come to expect from Bishop and Elder. Dr. Stacie Otey-Scott, a licensed clinical psychologist, has been brought on-board full time as the Executive Director of Community Wellness, where she will provide her clinical expertise, supervise the Lay Counselor volunteer staff, and grow Summit Wellness Center in accordance with the vision of Bishop and Elder Brown.
At Summit, we adhere to a strong privacy standard and your information is treated with the strictest confidentiality in mind.
Partners can expect meaningful 1 hour sessions, allowing for 1 to 3 visits before a re-evaluation. At re-evaluation we can determine the need for additional sessions or recommend professional care at one of our select community partners.
The Summit Wellness Center has online scheduling available to our Partners. Online scheduling allows for private and discrete appointment scheduling at your convenience. Scheduling only takes about 3 minutes and you can choose your preferred time, date, and Lay Counselor. Please be advised that the Lay Counselors and Partners are matched according to their gender (i.e. male partners should request male Lay Counselors for individual sessions; female partners should request female Lay Counselors for individual sessions).
Services at Summit Wellness Center carry a nominal fee. Our pricing schedule is available here. Financial Hardship is a concern and we desire for you to receive services, no matter your financial circumstance. We provide a “financial hardship” form, which may provide you with services at no cost.
If online scheduling isn’t convenient for you, please call Summit Wellness Center at 757-312-9891 for scheduling.
Our evening hours are available for Tuesdays from 6pm to 9pm. Online scheduling is available.
NEW! Restoring the Foundations (RTF) is an integrated approach to biblical healing. RTF Ministers will provide participants with questionaires designed to assist them with identifying a single root issue that has contributed to their emotional and spiritual difficulties. RTF considers 4 core problem areas that serve to create emotional, relational, and spiritual discomfort, and will guide the participant through the process of evaluating each area as they work toward healing and restoration. RTF Ministers will schedule an interview with the partner to go through the questionnaires, after which they will schedule the RTF ministry session. This session is an intense approach to tackling the root of the core problems identified by the participant, and can take up to 3 hours. RTF is an issue-focused approach to healing and restoration. RTF ministers utilize ministry related tools that have been proven effective in helping others identify and deal with major life struggles that have hindered their personal and spiritual growth and development.
If you are interested in finding out more about this service, please visit the RTF page, where you will be provided with more information and instructions on how to schedule an appointment with the RTF Ministry Team
